What does it mean if I am a Person of Interest?

At Vestigate the term “Person of Interest” means that the whereabouts of persons are unknown by our client, and our clients are seeking information as to their current location. A person may be listed as a Person of Interest for a range of legitimate reasons, including legal proceedings, debt or asset recovery, locating a witness, serving documents, or other lawful investigative purposes. At the time of listing, their current whereabouts are unknown to our client.

I would like to help what do I do?

If you, the public, would like to help our clients locate and recover what is rightfully theirs, all you need to do is simply, start searching all names you know, and see if any one of your names come up as a person of interest.You can also search on a vehicle or machinery, you see or think maybe have been stolen or encumbered. To do this, simply search by make, model or even just the registration, vin, chassis, or serial numbers you have. I have an urgent matter and need help now.

No problem. Simply email us the instructions to enquiries@vestigate.com.au in subject heading start with "URGENT" the name of matter or If you would prefer to discuss with Frank or one of his managers send a text message to the following mobile number 0412821062 that simply states your full name, the name of the company or firm you are from and have an urgent matter I need to discuss.

We will then call you within 15 minutes

Can we simply instruct Vestigate on any matter we have but don’t want to list it for the public to see.

Yes. We can manage any matter for you from beginning to end. In addition to our founder who has over 40 years of experience, we have in-house experienced Investigators and Mercantile Agents who can assist you.

In addition, access to agents all over Australia who we can attend to or who can instruct to whatever the assignment is.

Simply send an email to enquiries@vestigate.com.au with the subject "QUOTE ON JOB" and in the body of the email please put details of the work you need performed, including the applicable time frame. We will respond with a quoted price for the work, and if accepted we can go from there.

When do you recommend, I list a person or vehicle with Vestigate?

We recommend you place a listing with us whenever you have been unable to find a person or property your own, and whenever you think other members of the public could have information that you need. It doesn’t matter how long ago you lost track of someone or something, but if you are intended to take legal action time limits will apply to that action in accordance with the relevant laws.

Yes. We can manage any matter for you from beginning to end. In addition to our founder who has over 40 years of experience, we have in-house experienced Investigators and Mercantile Agents who can assist you, in addition access to Preferred Agents all over Australia who we can instruct on your behalf. Once I have received information from Vestigate, what should I do next?

If it’s a criminal matter:Once you have received information from Vestigate, take it to the appropriate authorities dealing with your matter. If it is discovered by Vestigate that the information has been used in an inappropriate or improper manner, this will be reported by us to the relevant authority.If it’s a civil matter:If you require any further investigations to be conducted or recovery action, you can either instruct your own Preferred Agent, or Vestigate.

Will Vestigate tell me who provided the information?

Accepted Answer

No. Clients of Vestigate waive their right to know the identity of the person or persons providing information. Unless a person providing information specifically requests Vestigate to inform its client of their identity the identity is not disclosed.

What if I am listed as a result of a debt I owe and I wish to settle the debt, but not deal directly with the creditor?

Simply contact Vestigate and we will advise our client of your position. In a lot of cases our clients will be more than happy for us to work with you in order to settle this matter where both parties can live with the end result.

What about legal assistance?

Accepted Answer

It may be that as a result of locating a person or property, you are now able to take legal action. We can refer you to trusted Lawyers all over Australia and via our secure portal, facilitate their access to the information we have obtained.

If I have information, do I have to give it to Vestigate?

Accepted Answer

No, you may provide it directly to the appropriate authorities. The reward offered by our client may not apply under these circumstances. Remember you can remain anonymous and strict controls exist to protect your right to anonymity, however on the rare occasion, any information given to us is subpoenaed by a court to produce we have no choice and it will be produced to that court but you will be notified beforehand.

What guarantee do I have that Vestigate staff will not divulge confidential information?

Vestigate staff understand the strict confidentiality of the information we hold and have strict guidelines in the handling of that information. Vestigate further protects confidential information by placing security controls on data access ensuring that our staff can only access the appropriate information. Access to any information by our staff is recorded on our database enabling us to identify at any time in the future individuals who have accessed that information.

Can Vestigate recover the debt or investigate the incident on our behalf?

Yes. We can manage your matter for you if you like all the way to the end, or we have a panel of Private Investigators, Debt Recovery Agents and even Lawyers, we can refer you to. Simply advise us of your requirements and we will inform you of your options and the costs involved prior to commencing.

How does the person listed find out who has listed them?

The person listed contacts Vestigate and provides proof of their identity. If authorised to do so Vestigate will then provide details of the listing to the person and advise our client that contact has been made. Our client will then follow the matter up. Where Vestigate is not authorised to provide the person with details of the listing we will pass their details onto the client. The client will then make contact.

What if the person listed disputes the listing?

Individuals have a right to query and dispute any listings and may apply in writing to correct any listing that they believe to be incorrect. Where a listing is queried Vestigate will investigate and where appropriate make any necessary amendments.Vestigate is bound by the Privacy Act 1988 and will not gather, use or share any information contrary to this act.

I have searched a potential Person of Interest or Encumbered or Stolen Property. Can I obtain further information?

Accepted Answer

No. Vestigate will not provide information about the person or property. These details will only be provided to the person we are seeking after providing proof of identification. The person sought will need to contact Vestigate to obtain this information personally. Once arrangements are made and adhered to Vestigate will be able to remove the client’s listing.

How do I arrange a meeting with management to discuss my matter as it is of a delicate nature, and I'd like to keep it confidential and out of the public eye?

Yes, once we have located the person or property then, via Vestigate's network of agents, we can instruct the appropriate agent to continue assisting you in the investigation or recovery process if need be.It could be that you simply need someone to serve documents on a person.You need an agent to repossess the property you have now located.Maybe attend to the recovery of monies you are owed.Whatever the reason is that you need to instruct an agent by doing it via us, you are guaranteed access to the right and closest agent to the job which long term saves you time and money.
